It is a base raw material for Agidol-1 (4-methyl-2,6-di-tert-butyl-
phenol) and other phenol-type antioxidants (color and light stabilizers, thermal stabilizers). It is readily soluble in alcohol, acetone, normal hydrocarbons, toluene. It is practically water-insoluble.
