ANHYDRIDE ISO-METHYL-TETRA-HYDRO-PHTHALIC (isoMTHPA) (rev. 5, 6, 7, 8 to TU 38.103149-85)

DESCRIPTION: isoMTHPA is an easily crystallizing liquid, readily soluble in gasoline, toluene, acetone, ether; at water absorption it transfers into corresponding acid.

APPLICATION: Used as a hardener for epoxy resins and compositions based on them.

THE PRODUCT MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING QUALITY PARAMETERS:

^*in brackets indices of gelatinization duration, defined on DER-330 epoxy resin manufactured by “Dow Chemical Company”, are indicated.

PACKING: isoMTHPA is poured in steel, hermetically closed barrels. Degree of filling is max 95% by volume. Upon agreement with a customer, isoMTHPA brand III can be packed into PE container. Degree of filling is max 98% by volume. Upon agreement with a customer, other types of packaging, corresponding normative documentation, approved according to the established procedure, can be used. The packing should insure safety of the product during transportation by all types of transport. After filling the barrels/containers shall be hermetically closed and sealed by the shipper.

TRANSPORTATION: Transported by all types of transport in accordance to all rules of cargo’s transportation standing at transport of this form.

STORAGE: isoMTHPA, hermetically packed in barrels/containers, is stored in covered dry firesafe warehouse of the manufacturer and consumer. Must be protected against moisture.

While storing isoMTHPA brands I and II at the temperature below 20⁰С and isoMTHPA brand III at the temperature below 15⁰С, the crystallization of the product is allowed. In this case isoMTHPA brands I and II should be heated till 50-60⁰С and isoMTHPA brand III – till room temperature.

GUARANTEED SHELF LIFE: 1 (one) year from the manufacture date. After the expiration of the guaranteed shelf life, isoMTHPA can be used for its intended purpose after confirmation of its conformity to the requirements of this product specification.
