Last year, Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant introduced non-crystallizing IMTHPA of grade 3 into its product assortment. The need for such a modified chemical reagent was expressed by Russian consumers, because isomethyl (IMTHPA) which is prone to crystallization during storage required additional costs for heating-up during processing.

Pilot batches of a new hardener brand being in demand in various areas related to the production of high-quality polymers and glass-reinforced plastics were sent to consumers for homologation. The process was completed successfully confirming the conformity of the technical characteristics of the product with acceptable standards.

The obtained positive result allowed to bring the production of non-crystallizing grade 3 IMTHPA to the industrial scale. In the spring of this year, 24 tons of isomethyl not inferior to foreign analogues were sent to clients. Shipment was made in a new package – IBC-containers equipped with a filling hole with a lid and an integrated drain valve with sealing possibility. According to the technical department, modern packaging will add competitive advantages to the product while expanding the sales market.
