Scientists at Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant have worked out a new technology for the production of Agidol-20.

Manufacturers of chemical additives for the rubber industry, including Joint Stock Companies “Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant” and “Sintez-Kauchuk”, are focusing their efforts on developing new products with a longer service life and effective performance. Particular attention is paid to the safety of the product for humans, since care for the environment becomes more urgent every year. In the European Union and a number of foreign countries, the gradual voluntary abandonment of "heavy" stabilizers, which were previously used in industry, is strongly encouraged. The introduction of safe substances in the modern world is becoming a necessity, and scientists are working on the creation of completely new stabilizers, which are not inferior in their antioxidant properties to the previous ones.

One of these stabilizers is Agidol-20, the latest development of the laboratory staff at Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant. It is an antioxidant with no discoloration or discoloration properties suitable for oil-free rubbers and latex compounds, better known as emulsifiers and thickeners. The substance works as a stabilizer in polymers in combination with other industrial substances and finds use in light rubbers.

Another major advantage of the obtained stabilizer Agidol-20 in comparison with the manufactured Agidol-30 is its light color. Light stabilizers are in great demand on the global antioxidant market. This feature of the antioxidant is evidence of its high quality and increases its competitiveness in the market. In the future, Agidol-20 will be used instead of Agidol-30.

The presentation of the new product was attended by Aleksey Danilov, General Director of JSC ”SPP”, Vladimir Erokhin, Head of workshop N-4-5, and Gulnur Khabibullina, Head of the Group of the Laboratory for the Synthesis of Phenolic Stabilizers. Alexey Danilov noted: “Initially, we will produce Agidol-20 for our enterprise in order to meet the basic needs, which currently amount to about 50 tons per month. If the productivity of the new product is higher, taking into account the security of our particular company, then in the future we plan to establish cooperation with representatives of other industries, especially since there is already a demand for the product. According to forecasts, Agidol-20 will go on sale in 2022. The product itself is competitive, in demand in many areas and is not inferior in terms of quality to foreign counterparts. "

This is a new stage in the industrial sphere and in the work of the enterprise, which is one of the leaders in the world market and once again proves its competitiveness and far-reaching plans.
